This site was started
by
Thomas Leavitt of Arlington Heights, Illinois
and
Dr. Karen Holl of Ben Lomond, California.
Initially started as a vehicle to raise money for
CoopePueblos Coffee Cooperative to purchase a new coffee processing mill.
It now promotes the sales of
Fair Trade Direct Coffee by CoopePueblos and other Central American cooperatives.
It also promotes sustainable agriculture and tropical rainforest restoration and preservation.
CoopePueblos is located in Agua Buena, Costa Rica.
Thomas Leavitt is a chef and small businessman.
He’s devoted to environmental, social justice and sustainable agriculture issues.
Dr. Holl, a professor of Environmental Studies at the University of California, Santa Cruz, is conducting an ongoing effort to restore the rainforest in the area.
She is deeply involved with the people of the community.
